This. Bird. Was. A. Damn. Pain. In. The. Rear. :dead:

Each wing with the 3 layers of feathers (2 red, 1 green-white) took about 4 houres, and for the tail feathers I spent another 5 houres (also with 3 layers: 2 short, 1 long). :faint:

Never. Ever. Again.

Length: about 10.5 cm / 4.13 inch
Wingspan: about 12 cm / 4.72 inch

The suggester said: "I love this artist's bead work, it looks so neat and straight. I also love the photography, it looks as if the artist was walking on tall grass and found a wild Pokemon!" ( Suggested by Talty and Featured by cakecrumbs )

Oh cool, my older sister used to make bead art like that in the late 80's, it was a lot more popular then, for some reason.

Bead art like that, was popular when I was little. Our church used to make them for children during Christmas time. Maybe it was only popular at our church.:) We used to send them to Africa and South America. We made mostly dolls and animal figures with beads. Noah's Ark, was a popular theme for them.

Well, thank you. I'm in the US. Besides, Hippies used to wear a lot of beads in the 60's and 70's. LOL
Honestly, beadwork is popular with Native Americans as well. Some of their designs are totally amazing, and some are worth thousands, if they wish to sell them. This has been a few generations, but I am part Cherokee myself. Although it's way too distant to tell, except for my dark black, thick hair and my temper. LOL

So how'd you get it in the air like that? Wires? Or did you just chuck it in the air and be a really good shot with the camera?

I'd rather not try that second idea! Nah, I needed a lot of thread which I edited afterwards in Photoshop - but that you didn't immediately see it was photoshopped is a huge compliment!
